The Beginning

The Buksh family begins the business in Calcutta, British India, by opening an HKB fabric/tailoring shop.

1947-48
Partition: the family relocates to Lahore, Pakistan.

In 1948, H. Karim Buksh re-establishes a tailoring & fabric shop in Lahore, in the Leela Ram Karim Building on Mall Road.

Now A Grocery Store

The first departmental/grocery store in Lahore opens on Mall Road in 1952.

Strategic Growth

A new store opens under HKB at Liberty in 1985

1995
Gorwth Continues

After one decade and strategic planning, another HKB store opens at the Y block in 1995.

2009
Beechtree’s Story Begins

Launch of Beechtree brand by HKB Retail: a high-street prêt brand aimed at young, fashion-forward women.

2010
Pepperland (now Beechtree Kids) was launched

Pepperland kids' wear launches to fill the gap of classy, comfortable, and modern outfits for kids (both boys and girls).

2011-15
Flagship store and more

In 2011, Beechtree starts operating in Lahore with its Flagship Store at Gulberg III. Then, new stores open in 2013 in Rawalpindi and in 2014 in Islamabad. In 2015, Beechtree enters Karachi.

Online Store

In 2015, Beechtree officially launches its online store.

2021-2025
Morbagh:The World of Unstitched for Women by HKB

Expansion of in-house sub-brands: Morbagh emerges on 26 March 2021 as Beechtree’s unstitched/printed lawn line. This sub-brand becomes an ode to traditional craftsmanship and modern style values by bringing classic and affordable unstitched lawn.

Entering Eleven Cities Across Pakistan

In the 2020s, Beechtree starts its stores in various locations in Karachi, Multan, Sialkot, Mirpur AJK, Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Peshawar, Gujrat, Sahiwal, and Bahawalpur. Today, Beechtree has 24 stores operating in 11 cities all over Pakistan.

REBRANDING

Pepperland (the existing kids' wear label under HKB) officially merges with Beechtree and rebrands as Beechtree Kids. Morbagh also merged with Beechtree into a solid, upgraded Unstitched collection.

Going Global

Beechtree starts expanding into international countries, including the USA, UK, Canada, Australia, and more

Today

Beechtree operates as a resourceful, youth‑driven fashion brand under HKB Retail (SMC‑Pvt) Ltd., with prêt, unstitched (previously MorBagh), Beechtree Kids (previously Pepperland), Western outfits for women, and accessories. The brand continues expanding its physical stores and digital presence across Pakistan and beyond (Beechtree Global).
